Master Food & Nutrition Volunteer Program

January 25 – April 4 | 1 pm – 4 pm

Do you enjoy cooking, eating, or local food? Then consider becoming a Master Food & Nutrition Volunteer! Volunteers will be able to support the FCS agent’s food-related programming, including assisting with cooking, nutrition education, and food safety classes, as well as conducting food demonstrations in the community.

Horseshoe Crab Watch Skills – Virtual Course and Workshop

The in-person workshop will be hosted on January 25

This training consists of a virtual course and an in-person workshop where we will cover information about horseshoe crab biology and management. The virtual course must be completed first before attending the workshop.

2024 Master Gardener Volunteer Program

January 27 – May 11 | 9 am – 3 pm

We are now offering our Master Gardener class on Saturdays! Become a trained Master Gardener Volunteer to assist with special events, grant-funded research, developing and maintaining our teaching garden, conducting on-site visits for the My Brevard Yard Program, and many more projects!

We are also hosting classes on Wednesdays starting January 10 – March 20, from 9 am – 3 pm.

Spring into Fitness

Registration is now open! This fitness challenge runs from February 3 – March 15.

This year’s format will be a FREE six-week individual fitness and wellness challenge starting Saturday, February 3rd, and ending Friday, March 15th. Participants can look forward to weekly in-person exercise events, educational newsletters, and fitness routines. We also partnered with Let’s Walk Florida to streamline the registration process and reporting minutes of exercise.

Bycatch Reduction Devices (BRDs) for Recreational Crab Traps

If you own a recreational crab trap and need a BRD, stop by our Master Gardener Desk during regular business hours. These BRDs are FREE and are designed to keep terrapin turtles out of your traps.

Available at the UF/IFAS Brevard Extension Office, Mon – Fri from 8 am – 5 pm (3695 Lake Dr., Cocoa, FL 32926); The Brevard County Farmers Market, Every Thursday from 3 pm – 6 pm (2500 Parkway Dr, Melbourne, FL 32935); or at the Titusville FWC office (1 A Max Brewer Memorial Parkway, Titusville, FL 32796).
