Vetericyn’s 2017 Future Innovators of Agriculture Scholarship Accepting Applications

The 2017 Vetericyn’s Future Innovators of Agriculture Scholarship is now accepting applications. Two $2,000 scholarships – for one graduating high school senior AND for one undergraduate student, will be awarded to outstanding students to help in their pursuit of higher education.

Conditions of Eligibility

  • Applicants must be either graduating high school seniors enrolling at a two-year or four-year institution OR an undergraduate student at a two-year or four-year institution
    • Proof of enrollment as a full-time student will be required
  • Students must have an overall GPA of at least 2.5
  • Applicants must be US citizens
  • Applicants must have demonstrated a commitment to agriculture through classes, internships and/or life experiences

Application Requirements

  • Scholarship Essays – answer the following questions (500-1,000 words per question):
    • How have your experiences shaped your career goals? What are your educational plans and how would you like to contribute to the agricultural industry?
    • Give examples of how you have demonstrated commitment through your life experiences (ie: work, volunteering, community service, etc.).
    • How do you see Technology and “Big Data” affecting agriculture in the United States?
    • How does the theme: “Transform: Purpose to Action” apply to you?
  • Entry Form
    • Essays must include a cover page that lists: Name, address, phone number, email address and one status: High School Student OR Undergraduate. 
    • Initials must be typed in the top right-hand corner of each page of the essays
    • If submitting via mail, the cover page and essays must be typed and printed on white 8 ½ x 11-inch paper. The essays must be your original work. If applying online, the cover page and essays must be submitted as a Microsoft Word attachment or as a PDF and emailed to socialmedia@innovacyn.com
    • For confidentiality in judging, please do NOT include any personal identification (name, address, phone, signature, photo, etc.) in your essay – NO PHOTOS
    • Only one submission per student


Judging

  • Judging will be conducted by a panel of Vetericyn employees
  • Scores for the scholarship essays will be based on originality, clarity, meaningful content, spelling, grammar, accurate presentation of facts and adherence to scholarship rules.
  • Vetericyn’s internal auditor will tabulate the results and declare the winners. All decisions are final. 
  • Winners will be notified and announced by May 1, 2017. Winners will need to complete a final scholarship form verifying contact and personal information.


All entries must be received by 11:59 pm PST on March 31, 2017. No late entries will be accepted.

*NOTE – Administrative/Award Guidelines:

  • High school winners must begin studies within one year of graduation or they may be required to forfeit the award in the absence of extenuating circumstances
  • Scholarship funds will be forwarded after Vetericyn receives written proof-of-enrollment from a college registrar. At that time, the winner’s check will be made payable to both the winner and the college, and mailed to the winner
  • Funds are to be used only for tuition, room and board, or book and educational supply expenses
  • All scholarship entries become the exclusive property of Vetericyn and will not be returned
  • Winners agree to provide Vetericyn with a photo that can be used to promote the scholarship program
