Profile:

Sara is the Sustainability Outreach Coordinator for Sarasota County UF/IFAS Extension & Sustainability and responsible for education and outreach projects to encourage sustainability actions in the community. Sara leads planning and implementation efforts for sustainability events, workshops, educational training, marketing and presentations. Sara has a Masters in Global Sustainability with a concentration in water from the University of South Florida. Sara is also a graduate of Texas A&M University where her studies focused on ocean and coastal resources, environmental policy, and scientific diving research in Galveston, Texas. Prior to joining Sarasota County, Sara worked for the Sarasota Bay Estuary Program as the Public Outreach Manager. She also worked at a consulting firm and at Mote Marine Laboratory in the Dive Operations Program where she was part of the scientific diving team for projects including coral spawning in the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary, offshore deep water blue holes and fish surveys for artificial reef systems. Sara is an open water scuba dive instructor and also enjoys sailing, boating and kayaking.
