Wildlife Wednesday Webinars: June – November 2017

The natural resources programs from UF/IFAS Extension Pinellas and Polk Counties are pleased to announce that the Wildlife Wednesday Webinar series for 2017 will take place on Wednesdays June – November, 2017. The webinars are from 12:15 PM – 1PM and therefore, are perfect for a fun and educational lunch break!

Each webinar, 45 minutes in length, will share information on wildlife found in Central Florida. Wildlife Wednesday webinars will highlight some frequently encountered wildlife, ways to identify these different species, and discuss their role and importance in Florida ecosystems. The webinars do have a central Florida focus but the information presented is applicable to most of the state.

Join Lara Milligan and Shannon Carnevale for a free lunch-time webinar on the third Wednesday of every month (June – November). Topics will include:

Please note:
All RSVP’ed participants will receive a link to the webinar 12-24 hours prior to the webinar taking place. Webinars will begin promptly at 12:15pm Eastern Standard Time.
Since 2015, 310 people have participated in a Wildlife Wednesday Webinar and web-posted recordings have been watched 915 times. Follow-up surveys given 6 months after the end of the webinar series indicated that 92% of webinar participants (n=224) adopted at least one of the webinar’s recommended behaviors to promote co-existence with wildlife in Central Florida. Furthermore, 98% (n=174) of survey respondents “agree” or “strongly agree” that information received will help them to better protect natural resources.
