Wakulla 4-H hosts the 2020 Tropicana Public Speaking Competition County Finals on Thursday April 9, 2020. The contest begins at 6:15 pm.
School level winners check in is at 5:45 pm. Second place winners serve as alternates.
Following the school level contests, youth then move on to the county level contest. After winning, first place winners in the grade divisions receive a full 4-H Summer Camp Scholarship. Wakulla County will attend 4-H Camp Timpoochee from July 6-10, 2020.
Additionally, county level winners compete at the District Competition. Second place winners serve as alternates.
As a result of winning the county finals, youth from seven participating counties compete in district finals.
To conclude the 2020 Tropicana Competition year, Finals are scheduled on April 25, 2020 at 2 pm. Wakulla 4-H serves as the event host at the Wakulla County Extension Office at 84 Cedar Avenue in Crawfordville, FL.
Registration for the competition begins at 1:30 pm Eastern Standard Time .
