About Tracy
What do you like about being an advisor?
I enjoy meeting and getting to know students and being a part of their college journey. I find it rewarding when a student that has experienced barriers overcomes them by implanting the skills, tools and resources they have learned. It is a great feeling for students to see that determination pays off.
What was the best advice you received as a student?
A college degree is 10% intelligence and 90% perseverance.
How long have you lived in Gainesville, and where is your hometown?
I am from Dunedin, Florida, and have lived in Gainesville since 1996 when I became a UF college student. I fell in love with the city and set down roots.
What are your favorite things to do in Gainesville?
Hiking the parks, biking the trail, bird watching, spending time with family and friends, and eating at the independent restaurants.
