Need to take an exam for pesticide licensing?

Do you think you need a pesticide license?

First, visit the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (FDACS) Pesticide Applicator Certification and Licensing webpage to learn more about pesticide licensing.

Which license do you need?

Use this webpage from UF/IFAS Extension Hillsborough County for help selecting which pesticide license you need. This is a great questionnaire that helps guide you on selecting which license you need.

How do you apply for examination?

You must first apply for examination with the UF/FDACS Online Pesticide Exam Scheduling System. Follow the steps to apply for a pesticide applicator’s exam. After receiving your voucher number, you can schedule an appointment at your local UF/IFAS Extension Testing Center.

When are the exams?

Beginning in August 2020, a limited number of computer exams will be held at the UF/IFAS Extension Seminole County office on the fourth Wednesday of every month. An appointment is required. Check the Online Pesticide Exam Scheduling System for appointment availability.

Due to concerns surrounding Covid-19, we are only offering computer exams at this time to a limited number of people at a time at the UF/IFAS Extension Seminole County office. Computers and exam materials are sterilized in between use.

Dates for 2021 will be posted as soon as they are available.

How do you prepare for the exams?

A list of the study materials needed for each exam can be found here. Review courses are available for some exams. Please see this flyer about upcoming 2020 trainings and review sessions in Central Florida.
