Innovative solutions celebrated at 17th Annual Research Awards Ceremony

Nearly 200 UF/IFAS faculty, staff, students, and their guests gathered at the Harn Museum of Art on Wednesday, May 15th for the 17th Annual Research Awards Ceremony. The theme of the night was “Innovative Solutions,” highlighting the creative and highly applicable research UF/IFAS provides its stakeholders.

Leaders from across the university were in attendance including Dr. Robert Gilbert, UF/IFAS Interim Senior Vice President, and several assistant vice presidents with UF Research.

Recognitions ranged from awards for excellent graduate theses and dissertations to impactful journal publications. Honorees also included faculty members who have recently received national distinctions, such as the three UF/IFAS researchers elected as Fellows to the American Association for the Advancement of Science.

“Our 17th annual research awards ceremony was a huge success,” said UF/IFAS Interim Dean for Research, John Davis.  “We celebrated accomplishments across UF/IFAS as reflected by impressive numbers of publications and grant dollars.  But it all really boils down to celebrating our people – the faculty, staff and students across our organization that make UF/IFAS such a great place to work and excel.”
