Discover the joy of gardening with Muscadine Grapes!
If you have ever considered growing your own Muscadine Grapes for jellies, jams, or beverages, but you need to know where to start. This program is for you! This hands-on workshop, led by 3 UF/IFAS Extension Horticulture Agents, will inspire you to start your own small vineyard at home.
This program will cover the fundamentals of Muscadine Grape cultivation in the home landscape. It will provide essential techniques and tips to ensure you have the right location to give a grapevine a healthy start. You will learn how to install and maintain a grapevine. It will also address proper pruning to ensure the vine’s health, longevity and productiveness. This program will also present the insect pests and diseases often seen on these plants. Finally, you will be allowed to propagate your own muscadine grape and sample different Muscadine Grapes.
