Jean Rogalsky, UF/IFAS Extension, Pinellas County, 4-H Agent
Where else but in 4-H can you see such a variety of interests? This Friday and Saturday Pinellas residents will be able to see a sampling of the talent and projects at 4-H Night of the Arts and Focus on 4-H.
Night of the Arts is the talent show and photo contest for 4-H members. Come see performers ages 5 through 18 showing off their talents. The performers are awarded ribbons and the winners go on to District Events May 3rd. The show begins at 7:00 p.m. , is free and open to the public. It takes place at the Pinellas Park Performing Arts Center 4951 78th Avenue , Pinellas Park.
Perhaps you have heard about the new Greater Pinellas Country Fair? There will be a kick-off reception before Night of the Arts starting at 5:00 p.m. This reception is for those who might want to be vendors or support the fair. Refreshments will be served.
On Saturday, any youth who are interested in learning how to show a chicken, rabbit, goat, or dog, would benefit from attending the Focus on 4-H event from 10 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. We will have 4-H youth and adults there who will show you the basics.
In addition, there will be examples of show chickens, pony rides, baby chicks, games,
free trees (baby), and more.
Representatives from 4-H clubs will be there to tell you how you and your family can become involved in 4-H. England Brothers Park is located at 5010 81st Avenue N. in Pinellas Park.
