Rabbits, radishes, and robots… Pinellas County 4-H has summer programs for everyone!

Summertime is quickly approaching, which often means searching for fun, educational things for your children to do while they aren’t in school. In families with multiple children, finding something for everyone’s varied interests while keeping costs down can be very difficult. And what about fun activities for the parents to do in summer? After all, it is not only kids that can benefit from fun, educational experiences!

Why not check out some of Pinellas County 4-H’s summer programs for youth, and even a program for adults! Camps cost less than $55 for the entire week and the adult volunteer program is completely free.

4-H SPARK Academy

Finally for adults that would like to learn how to be an awesome 4-H Project Leader/volunteer, we have a brand new 4-H SPARK Volunteer Academy. The First meeting is May 18th, and the remaining dates are May 25, June 1, 8, 15, and 29.

The 4-H SPARK Academy is a 6-week course to train and certify new volunteers to become 4-H project leaders and curriculum facilitators. The class of volunteers will attend trainings on selected dates in May and June for two hours. Participants will learn to facilitate everything from building robots to making your own ice cream! If you are ever jealous of all of the fun things your child gets to do at camp, be jealous no more… because the SPARK academy will get to be a kid again all while learning how to share your knowledge and passions with other 4-H youth in the community.
