Dicamba use in cotton and soybean has been reapproved by the EPA and 4 products have received a 5-year registration. As part of the registration the EPA has required that ALL people handling or applying (anybody touching this pesticide at all) must be a licensed applicator AND attend a Dicamba Stewardship Training. The UF/IFAS Pesticide Information Office is happy to announce a free course is available that will meet the stewardship training requirements.
The four products registered for use in Florida that require this training are:
- Engenia®
- FeXapan® Plus Vapor Grip® Technology
- Tavium® Plus Vapor Grip® Technology
- Xtendimax® With Vapor Grip® Technology
This course can be found on Canvas Catalog:https://ifas-pest.catalog.instructure.com/courses/pice-2022-dicamba-stewardship-training
If you have never done training through this system the following video might be helpful for how to register and navigate the site: https://www.screencast.com/users/BrettBultemeier/folders/Blogs%20and%20Blurbs/media/480c6354-34c2-405f-8b5f-fef6a2601f4a
There is an additional introduction video once you are inside the course that helps describe how to print your certificate at the end. This is different from our CEU certificate process.
This course does NOT count for CEUs, it is only for Dicamba Stewardship Training. Always be sure to read the pesticide label Before you Buy and Before you Use.
