Who is UF/IFAS Extension Pasco County?
The University of Florida Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences (UF/IFAS) Extension Pasco County is an off-campus branch of UF that offers a wide range of helpful educational materials and programs for adults and youth alike. Our team of experts is dedicated to providing non-biased research-based information to Pasco’s citizens. Whether you endeavor to learn more about home landscaping or improving your financial skills, UF/IFAS Extension Pasco County offers a wide range of valuable programs to help you grow and achieve your personal goals. Each program is designed to enhance skills, improve quality of life, and support the community’s needs. With our informative workshops and personalized consultations, you will get fact-based information to improve your skills and make informed decisions.
For example, the Master Gardener Volunteer program educates citizens about residential horticulture and gets volunteers involved in local community horticultural projects, festivals, and conservation efforts. The Luggage of Love initiative, part of UF/IFAS’s Extension Pasco County’s One Stop Shop, supports displaced children by providing them with essential items such as luggage and toiletries. The Community Gardens program supports low-income families by giving them access to fresh, sustainable food while offering a safe space to grow vegetables and broaden gardening skills. 4-H and Youth Leadership is the only university-based youth development program in the nation and engages youth in educational experiences to develop knowledge, leadership, and life skills. Family and Consumer Sciences provides useful workshops on managing finances and maintaining homes, from food safety to cooking healthy meals on a budget. Family Nutrition programs teach families with limited resources how to eat healthy through classes and cooking demos, while the Livestock and Forage Management program helps local ranchers with expert advice and training on animal care and nutrition. These are just a few of the programs we provide to our citizens. Give us a call and see how we have Solutions for Your Life!
