Orange County 4-H Poinsettia Sale Success

a sea of red poinsettiasThanks to the efforts of hard-working Orange County 4-H members, the Exhibit Hall at the Extension Center is filled with more than 1900 festive red, pink, and white poinsettias. Our club members began taking pre-orders in October and exceeded the previous record set in 2022 by 500 plants! The Poinsettia Sale is our primary fundraising event of the year. All proceeds directly benefit 4-H youth through the clubs and county 4-H program project awards and financial support.

In addition to the orders that will decorate homes and businesses, there were 270 poinsettias ordered for donation to local senior centers! 4-H club members will make those deliveries this week to share some holiday joy with the staff and residents. We are so thankful for the generosity of the community that allows our youth to incorporate the spirit of giving and service into their fundraising efforts.

How to Get Involved

The Orange County 4-H program supports hundreds of youth members through community clubs and thousands of students through in-school and after-school programs. This is only possible because of our dedicated volunteers who donated more than 10,000 hours of their time and talents in 2023. If you are considering volunteering for a 4-H program or activity or possibly leading a community club, we would be glad to answer your questions. You can reach us at orange4H@ifas.ufl.edu or call 407-254-9222.

Please note – due to high demand, there are a very limited number of plants available for walk-in sales. If you missed the sale this year, please reach out to us next October to pre-order beautiful floral quality poinsettias.
