2022 NACAA SARE Pre-Tour

We are excited to host the SARE Pre Conference Tour for the 2022 NACAA Conference in beautiful West Palm Beach, Florida! Yes, Florida is home to beautiful beaches, but did you know we are growing when you are snowing? In fact, some of the places we will visit include a hydroponic protected agriculture farm and event space in a suburban area of Martin County, a water farm operated by one of our award-winning ranchers, sugarcane and rice farms in the Everglades Agricultural Area around Lake Okeechobee, a demonstration farm run by veterans, UF/IFAS Research and Education Centers, and the Miami-Dade Fruit & Spice Park. Our lunch hosts at the Miami-Dade Extension office are planning a delicious meal of local cuisine. In the afternoon, we will also be stopping for tropical fruit milkshakes and smoothies at the Robert is Here Fruit Stand, which is listed on the National Culinary Heritage Register. Between stops on the tour bus, Florida SARE will lead us in group discussions about the aspects of sustainability we are seeing at the places we visit.
