GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Flavors of Florida, the premier UF/IFAS tasting showcase, returns to the University of Florida campus in 2022. The May 5 event, hosted in the Champions Club at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium at Florida Field, will be from 6 to 8:30 p.m., and tickets are available now at tinyurl.com/IFASFOF22.
Now in its seventh turn – it was last held in 2019 – Flavors of Florida invites participants to sample delicious foods and beverages produced in the Sunshine State and aided by UF/IFAS research. Chef-curated tastings may feature the tomatoes UF/IFAS scientists are working to make tastier, beer brewed from our research plot hops, or some peak-season blueberries.
This year also marks the return of the event’s benefit to a cause within the UF/IFAS mission: a portion of each ticket will go directly to the Path to Pioneers program. This program provides UF/IFAS research opportunities for undergraduate students in the spirit of UF/IFAS leader Scott Angle’s VP Promise to support students in the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences.
Those registering for the event may also choose to donate additional amounts to the program, for which both student and researcher demand consistently outpaces available funding. Anyone can give directly to the fund at ufgive.to/FF22, as well.
Event tickets are $95. For more information, including about available sponsorship and tasting partner opportunities, please contact Heather Yoder at advancement@ifas.ufl.edu.
