UF/IFAS Future of Food Forum features York Distinguished Lecturer

WHAT: The Future of Food Forum, the flagship event of the Global Food Systems Institute of the University of Florida Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences, features a gathering of academics, students, business leaders, farmers, growers and policymakers. They will discuss food systems, transformation, advancement and development in this sector.

The keynote speech for this event will be York Distinguished Lecture Series participant Ismahane Elouafi, executive managing director of CGIAR, a global partnership that unites international organizations researching food security. Her lecture will cover how to make crops resilient for the future in a growing and changing world.

ABOUT THE YORK DISTINGUISHED LECTURE SERIES: The York Distinguished Lecturer Series was established in 1984 by an endowment from Dr. and Mrs. E. T. York, Jr. Each year, at least one recognized leader is invited to campus to give the lecture. The lecturers have achieved outstanding international distinction in agriculture or a related discipline. The establishment of the series is in recognition of the proud contribution this university has made toward the betterment of mankind.
