Free Webinars on Private Well and Septic Systems for Floridians

Florida homeowners with private wells or septic systems are invited to learn more about their home water and wastewater management system through three free webinars hosted by a UF/IFAS and MREC expert.

WHO: Yilin Zhuang, water resources regional specialized agent.

WHAT: Three webinars covering topics about private wells, septic systems and maintenance for both before and after storms. Attendees have the option to purchase a well water testing kit for $25. The kit, which covers total coliform bacteria and E. coli, will be shipped to attendees in a foam cooler with a prepaid overnight shipping label. After collecting a water sample, attendees can drop off the box at their local FedEx office during the designated drop off-time.

WHEN: Webinars take place in August and September.

  • Thursday, Aug. 22 from 2 – 3 p.m.: Basics of Private Wells
  • Thursday, Aug. 29 from 2 – 3 p.m.: Basics of Septic Systems
  • Thursday, Sept. 5 from 2 – 3 p.m.: Well and Septic System Maintenance Before and After Storms

WHERE: Online via Zoom.
