4-H Summer Camps to Showcase Local Community

Youth in Levy County know that summer brings a variety of engaging and fun 4-H summer camps. Each year the Levy County 4-H Program offers seven weeks of day camps with varying themes. This year, two of the camps are showcasing the heart and bones of Levy County.

AG Discovery Camp will introduce youth to the many facets of Florida agriculture found in Levy County. Agriculture plays a large role in Florida’s economy and produces many of the products we use and consume daily. To gain a better understanding of the industries, youth will have the opportunity to interact with producers and business owners. Topics will include beef, dairy, equine, peanuts, watermelon, and much more!

Hometown Heroes Camp salutes our local “heroes”! Youth will hear from the US Coast Guard, fire department, police department, EMS, Central Florida Electric Co-op, and many more during these four days. By working with these departments and businesses, we have a special way to make youth feel more connected to their community.

Participants of the Levy County 4-H Program will improve their communication, personal safety, and social skills. Summer camps are open to 4-H members and non-4-H members. Registration for the camps can be found through the Levy County 4-H Eventbrite. Please call (352) 486-5131 with questions about these or other camps.

The Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences (IFAS) is an Equal Opportunity Institution.
