Thank you Levy County! Thanks to your incredible generosity, more than 1,945 pounds of peanut butter were donated to local food pantries. Our community’s contribution provides enough peanut butter—to help nourish 648 Levy residents for an entire year, based on the U.S. average consumption of three pounds per person.

According to Feeding America, 1 in 7 Floridians faces hunger, underscoring the importance of community-driven efforts like this one.

This year, donations were distributed to the following local organizations:
> Cedar Key Food Pantry
> Doyle C. Crosby Food Pantry
> Love Levy Community Help Center
> Harmony Pregnancy Center
> Tri-County Community Resource Center
> Yankeetown School Food Pantry
>
Bronson United Methodist Church Food Pantry.

Thank you for supporting this local and statewide initiative spearheaded by the University of Florida, in cooperation with Florida A&M University and the UF College of Agricultural and Life Sciences. Statewide, peanut butter collections exceeded 44,564 pounds, surpassing last year’s total by approximately 5,000 pounds.

Your support truly makes a difference. Thank you for helping fight hunger in our community and across Florida.
