No. FL Pasture Management School

The North Florida Pasture Management School held January 18 and 19, 2018 was a great success.

Faculty from the University of Florida and local, experienced pasture management experts covered topics which included

  • Fertilization
  • Climate effects
  • Diseases
  • Varieties
  • Measuring forage quantity & quality
  • Poisonous pasture plants
  • Weed management
  • Pasture insect control

Participants had an opportunity to go on field trips and see real world applications of the topics listed above.
Four (4) Pesticide CEUs (continuing education units) were available.

Scheduled to speak were Anthony Drew, UF-IFAS Extension; Dr. Marcelo Wallau, UF-IFAS Agronomy Dept.; Dr. Matt Hersom, UF-IFAS Animal Sciences; Kevin Korus, UF-IFAS Extension; Alicia Halbritter, UF-IFAS Extension; Ed Jennings, UF-IFAS Extension; Dr. Stacy Strickland, UF-IFAS Extension; Clay Cooper, UF-IFAS Extension; Dr. Cindy Sanders, UF-IFAS Extension; Jane Griffin, UF-IFAS Extension.

The cost was $50 for the two day event which included lunch for both days, break refreshments and notebooks.
