The Leon County 4-H Program continues to empower youth through hands-on STEM education, offering engaging learning experiences in robotics, electronics, artificial intelligence (AI), and automation. Youth in the program have successfully completed a range of innovative projects, including line-following robots, pick-and-place robotic systems, AI-based image classification models, ESP32 motor control applications, and soil moisture sensor–based automated irrigation systems.

Through these real-world projects, students gain valuable technical skills in robotics programming, sensor integration, electronics fundamentals, circuit design using Tinkercad, microcontroller systems, and automation technologies. These experiences support the development of critical thinking, problem-solving, and engineering design skills, preparing youth for future careers in STEM fields.
To further enhance these learning opportunities, Intel has generously donated 10 laptops to support the program’s growing technology needs. These laptops play a crucial role in enabling students to run coding compilers, develop robotics applications, perform circuit simulations, and explore machine learning and AI development. This contribution directly supports the UF/IFAS Extension mission to expand access to science education and build STEM literacy among youth.
