The next several weeks are going to be very busy for 4-H!

Upcoming 4-H Events:
2015 4-H Area A Horse Show
Tell your friends and neighbors to come out and support our youth at the 4-H Area A Horse Show that will be held on April 17 and 18, 2015, at the Jackson County Ag Center in Marianna. For the first time in many years there will be 4-H members from Jackson County competing. The youth that will be representing Jackson County 4-H are: Baylee Beauchamp, Jason Branch, River Clark, Chelsea Edenfield, Zackery Edenfield, Kristina Harris, Amber Mercer, Autum Mercer, Edwin Rabon, Samantha Rabon, Trey Smith and Johnny Stone.
There will be concessions available both days provided by the Jackson County 4-H Country Bumpkins and the Jackson County 4-H Buckaroos. Come out and have something good to eat while you cheer your local riders on to victory! The horse club youth and their club leader have been working very hard and we are very proud of them! • April 21st – Ag Literacy Day. Jackson County 4-H volunteers will be reading in the classrooms of 187 Jackson County students in grades K through 5. • June 21st – June 26th – Coastal Science High School Camp. Will be held at Seahorse Key Marine Lab. Registration is open now. Maximum registration is 15 students. Limited scholarship money is available. • Informational materials now available for the June 5th State 4-H Poultry Judging Contest. Informational materials are now available for the 2015 Florida 4-H State Poultry Judging Contest. Please visit the website below for the Contest Announcement, Registration Form, Rules & Regulations, Judging Class Details and Parking Information. • Don’t Miss the April 4-H Curriculum Sale. • April 22nd – Earth Day. Focus on Curriculum: Earth Day Activities. A number of curricula are available for volunteers and teachers to use for your Earth Day activities. Check out: Exploring Your Environment, designed for middle school aged youth. Three booklets are available: (1) Earth’s Capacity explores environmental stewardship and issues such as transportation choices, waste management, composting, recycling, and natural resources.(2) Ecosystems Services explores climate change, life cycles, ecological footprints, and living a sustainable life.(3) Facilitator Guide.
