Brevard County

Extension Agent I or II – Family Consumer Science

The successful candidate will lead through designing, implementing, and evaluating community-based education programs that improve financial literacy and help individuals, families and communities improve their economic well-being (about 95% of your time). Educational programs may be targeted to help individuals and families obtain skills to own a home or small business or take a long-term view of their financial futures.  At least 5% of the candidate’s time will be devoted to 4‐H Youth Development.

A bachelor’s degree in family and consumer sciences, business, economics, financial management, or a closely related discipline is required. We will accept applicants without a bachelor’s degree if the degree will be earned by August 2024.

 

Jefferson County

Extension Agent I – III – Horticulture, Agriculture, and Natural Resources

University of Florida/IFAS Extension and Jefferson County are seeking an Extension Agent to design, implement, and evaluate extension programming that meets the needs of the county’s diverse population. This position includes 1) residential horticulture and small farms, 2) Master Gardener Volunteer (MGV) training in Jefferson County, 3) production agriculture, and 4) natural resources. In addition, all non-4-H Extension faculty members contribute 5% effort to the 4-H Youth Development program.

A bachelor’s degree in agronomy, horticulture, or related agriculture related field is required.

 

Putnam County

Extension Agent I – Rural Community Health

The focus areas will be human nutrition, healthy lifestyles, and improving individual and community health and well-being. You will empower individuals and families to adopt healthy eating habits and lifestyle behaviors that can prevent or delay the onset of chronic illnesses such as heart disease, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, and diabetes. You will also deliver programs that improve individual and community health outcomes and help navigate pathways for access to appropriate health care for rural and underserved communities in Putnam County.

A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in family and consumer sciences, nutrition, dietetics, health & wellness, or a closely related field is required. We will accept applicants without a bachelor’s degree if the degree is earned by May 2024.

 

 

Southwest District – Multi County

Multi County Extension Agent II – IV – Citrus

There are approximately 108,000 acres of citrus in the Florida production area of Hardee, Desoto and Manatee counties. The successful citrus multi-county extension agent will develop, implement, evaluate, promote, and report on comprehensive educational programs to help producers and landowners more effectively interpret and use findings of current science and technology. This agent will be expected to teach the most effective strategies of citrus to deal with Integrated Pest Management (IPM), Best Management Practices (BMPs) to protect water quality, water management, horticultural and economic and other advisory committee related topics.

This position requires a master’s degree with a strong academic background in plant science, horticultural science, crop science, entomology, plant pathology, soil and water science, agricultural and biological engineering, or a closely related field.

 

 

Wakulla County

Extension Agent I – III – Horticulture, Agriculture, and Natural Resources

University of Florida/IFAS Extension and Wakulla County are seeking an Extension Agent to design, implement, and evaluate extension programming that meets the needs of the county’s varied population. This position includes 1) residential horticulture, 2) Master Gardener Volunteer (MGV) training in Wakulla and Franklin counties, 3) small farms, and 4) inland and coastal natural resources. In addition, all non-4-H Extension faculty members contribute 5% effort to the 4-H Youth Development program. Wakulla County faculty collaborate frequently and share expertise with neighboring Franklin and Gulf counties.

A bachelor’s degree in horticulture or related agriculture related field is required.

 

Walton County

Extension Agent I – III – Sustainable Agriculture and Small Farms

University of Florida/IFAS Extension and Walton County are seeking an Extension Agent to design, implement, and evaluate extension programming to meet the needs of the county’s varied population. This position includes programming in 1) sustaining and improving agricultural profitability and 2) improving farm and land management practices. In addition, all non-4-H Extension faculty members contribute 5% effort to the 4-H Youth Development program.
