Identifying Gaps in Content: Adding Video

During a recent webinar, I discussed the importance of identifying gaps in content. One area that requires improvement is the lack of videos that enhance our digital content. You should incorporate more videos into your website or blog for numerous reasons. For instance, in the last quarter of 2022, “online videos reached nearly 92 percent of internet users worldwide. Video content has become a popular online format, covering everything from educational materials to product reviews.” (Reference: Statista.com)

Adding Video Helps Create Engagement

Videos are essential for creating engaging digital content; utilizing them to enhance your online presence is crucial. You can create or share videos that will captivate your audience and keep them coming back for more.

One way to improve your digital content is by incorporating videos that showcase what IFAS does, like new research. This approach will enable your audience to better understand what you offer and how it can benefit them. You can also create how-to videos demonstrating how something works and give tips to help viewers make informed decisions.

How to Add a Video

To enhance your website or blog, we suggest embedding a playlist. By embedding a playlist, you can continue to recommend relevant IFAS videos to your audience instead of YouTube suggesting spammy content.

We have made adding videos easy for bloggers and web builders alike:

  • Bloggers can refer to this guide and watch Video Tips for Bloggers.
  • For web builders, follow this two-step guide to easily add videos to web pages. To record video click event engagement on UF/IFAS analytics dashboards, use the T4 content piece to embed the YouTube video on your website instead of linking to it. Each web builder should have access to add the YouTube content piece to a web page to share IFAS videos.
  • Extension Web Builders can use our plugin play video page template. Simply copy the template, rename it, and add your video link.

Visit the UF/IFAS YouTube Channels for videos you can include that are related to your web or blog content.
