TERMINALFOUR (T4) Tip 35: Presenting Lengthy Information on the Web

Intended Audience: Contributors and Moderators

TIP: Incorporate web links when presenting lengthy web content

Explanation: Many people access websites through mobile devices (smartphones, tablets). Even when they visit your web pages via desktop/laptop computer, it’s wise to present web content using methods that make it easy to consume such information.

Several linking methods are available using the TERMINALFOUR (t4) content management system (CMS). For example, internal links direct web visitors to other web pages within your site. You may also link to a different UF/IFAS website using this method. External links (to another website) help your web visitors locate relevant and related information that’s either not covered in your web content, or is not presented in depth. PDF documents are ideal for presenting content written by faculty or staff members, as well as flyers, program details, and similar.

Be sure to preview your web pages before publishing to ensure content displays correctly. Adjust as necessary.
