The truth is no matter which term you use people will often disagree because we use all of these terms as identity markers. National Hispanic heritage month is celebrated every year from September 15th to October 15th. During this time period, tribute is paid to the generations that have contributed and had a positive influence in Hispanic American society. According to the 2019 U.S. Census, Hispanics make up about 20% of the United States population. Although it is an emotionally charged topic, we must acknowledge the impact that Hispanic societies and communities constantly make within our nation. So how can parents or childcare providers celebrate national Hispanic heritage month? Embrace diversity!
