Dr. Shelly Johnson
Dr. Shelly Johnson, PhD is the State Specialized Agent in natural resources in the Department of Wildlife Ecology & Conservation. She directs the Natural Areas Training Academy, leads the Florida Youth Naturalist Program, and coordinates EmpowerU Florida, and other applied wildlife research and outreach. Her expertise is in wildlife ecology, forest habitat, and conservation communication; field experience includes the western US, Florida, and tropical ecosystems abroad. She earned a PhD from University of Florida, MS from Northern Arizona University, and BS from University of Idaho. She can be reached at Shelly.Johnson@ufl.edu
