Sam Gibbons, a Florida native, is the Sustainability Outreach Specialist for Sarasota County UF/IFAS Extension & Sustainability Office. His primary responsibilities include the annual Sustainable Communities Workshop, the Energy Upgrade Volunteer program, and education & outreach within Sarasota County, FL. Before working for Sarasota County, Sam was heavily engaged in education and development of renewable energy generation and storage, sustainable transportation, and sustainable food systems projects and initiatives around Tampa Bay. He is a graduate of Florida State University where he focused on Economics and Public Policy and a graduate of University of South Florida with a Master of Arts in Global Sustainability focusing on Renewable Energy and Fuels.
