The show week is approaching fast. As we continue in our 4-H Journal Series, you should work on the following tasks/pages during February:
- Monthly Feed Journal November
- Make sure you enter your feed information
- January/February Check-in
- These check-ins are an essential way to document your journey and reflect on where you are in your project and goals. This will be your last pre-show check-in
- Community Service and Educational Opportunity Log
- Many of you have already participated in a community service project or an educational program beyond your 4-H club. Please document your activities on this page.
- Animal Health Record
- Make sure to document health-related issues and routine treatments such as worming, vaccinations, and hoof trimmings.
- Don’t forget to document your animal’s health certificate and how much it costs.
- Animal Weight Record
- This page is an essential tool you can use to document your animal’s weight to know if your animal is on target to make weight or if your animal is struggling to gain weight.
- Supply List
- As you get closer to the show, you will be purchasing items needed for the show week and your project. Now is a great time to make sure you have been keeping up with your supply list.
- Year in Pictures
- Make sure you have captured pictures that show your project in the middle of the year. If you haven’t, make sure to take a moment to get some pre-show-week pictures.
While these are the main pages to focus on in February, remember to review your journal regularly so you stay up to date and have less to fill in after the show.
If you have any questions, please get in touch with Ms. Tycee or your 4-H Leader. All contact information can be found in our project journal.
