It is that time of year; you can feel it in the air – It is show time. Are you ready? Do you have everything you need?

Now is the time to take inventory of what is in you show box. Just because it was in there last year does not mean it is in there now. What are you missing? What is in there but needs to be replaced?

Check your show halter not only to see if it will fit your animal, but check to see if it is still in good shape. Are you clipper blades sharp, or are they broken? Do you have everything you will need to feed and take care of animal for the week. Items often forgotten include: hoses, nozzles, extension cords, hay sacks, feed tubs, brushes, and rakes.

What are you going to show in? Do you have a nice belt? Does your boots still fit?

Now is the time to be thinking about what items you will need, and where you are going to get them. If you plan on picking up items at a local store, remember there are other youth who are looking for the same items. If you plan to order your items, make sure to order early just in case shipping times run longer than expected.

Show Season is a great time of learning and fun. It does not have to be stressful. Planning ahead can help you have a fun week.
