The UF/IFAS Dinner of Distinction was held virtually for the first time on Thursday, October 8, hosted by the new UF/IFAS Vice President, Dr. Scott Angle. The guests in attendance were just a sample of the larger community of supporters who make UF/IFAS great: past UF/IFAS awardees, SHARE Council members, Florida 4-H Board of Directors members, College of Agricultural and Life Sciences Ambassadors and UF/IFAS leadership, faculty and staff.
With the central theme “IFAS at Work”, the event reflected on 118 past awardees through a series of short videos; honored the 2020 UF/IFAS Legislative Leader, Representative Blaise Ingoglia; provided updates from the deans of CALS, research and Extension; and kicked off the VP Promise, a new initiative and matching gift campaign pioneered by Dr. Angle to expand access for CALS undergraduate students to participate in experiences beyond the classroom. Guests enjoyed the presence of CALS students, who played an integral role in the event announcing polls, sharing their involvement in beyond the classroom experiences and helping with tech support.
The virtual Dinner of Distinction was a wonderful event to connect with many of our most devoted supporters, and we look forward to the future opportunity to celebrate in person.
