The Wakulla County Nakashima Family has honored us once again here in June 2020. The Nakashima Family has created our second beautiful mural for the UF/IFAS Wakulla County Extension in the “office meeting room” (OMR), for the public to embrace.

Wakulla County Extension COURTYARD Mural 2019
The Nakashima family have already left their fabulous brush strokes on the UF/IFAS Wakulla County Extension office back in August 2019, in our courtyard for all the community to enjoy. Still one year later the extension staff continues to receive a plethora of complements emphasizing the beauty of the mural and stating how it makes the extension’s courtyard complete.
A Family Who Creates Together Succeeds Together
For the Love of Their Community
The Nakashima family has generously donated two more weeks of their precious time to help capture the natural beauty of
Wakulla County. The Nakashima family works as a team of three artists. The family of three has their own special interest and talents that together makes buckets of paint into beautiful works of art. The three artists have continued to prove to be amazing and their dedication to their work has been widely admired. Through this new process, it was clear that each one demonstrates their own special talents, techniques, ideas and the ability to work together in a complementary way. Avery Nakashima is multi-faceted as an artist, filmmaker and writer creating and designing along with producing animated short videos about how to prevent pollution. Ariana Nakashima is not only a talented artist; she is an author, poet and musician. Kai Nakashima is into painting in a variety of mixed media; and she too is an author, poet and musician. Her woodland critters adds a beautiful touch to the OMR mural as they do in our courtyard. This family is truly a wonderful bundle of talent, each one striving to give back to a community they love and cherish.
Sandra Nakashima, is a very dedicated mother who sits patiently in support of her children to always be ready to assist at any time from beginning to the end of every project. The family’s attention to detail is quite extraordinary while their charm radiates through in the fine quality of their work.
When visitors come to the UF/IFAS Wakulla County Extension office to visit the Agriculture, Horticulture, Natural Resources, Master Gardener’s course, 4-H youth development and Family and Consumer Sciences; they will be amazed by the vibrant and creative way the “Outdoor Wakulla Living©” (OWL©) mural captures the great activities for families to consider as their next vacation get away. In keeping with all the great activity, Wakulla has to offer, we always hope our county never loses our special beauty.
Thank You Nakashima Family!
As always, we extend our greatest appreciation for all that the Nakashima family has graciously done for the UF/IFAS Wakulla County Extension Office.
