With a myriad of complex issues facing the agricultural and natural resource industries, an understanding of economic theory and how consumer behavior influences these issues can be critical to addressing them.
To that end, the UF/IFAS Food and Resource Economics (FRE) is excited to announce the launch of its new podcast – F.R.E. Lunch!
This podcast is co-hosted by Caleb Stair, an instructional assistant professor and undergraduate honors research coordinator for FRE, and Alena Poulin, the department marketing and communications specialist.
“Food and Resource Economics is such a varied discipline,” Stair said. “With so many people doing so many different things (all of them cool!), we wanted to create a place where the general public could go to learn more about all of them and better understand just what it is a food and resource economist does.”
Each 15-20-minute episode features interviews with FRE students and faculty, providing bite-sized lessons on a diverse range of topics. Season One promises to cover a wide spectrum of topics – from how surveys are used to estimate hurricane impacts on Florida agriculture to research being done on craft breweries.
Episodes are published on the last Friday of every month, and the first episode is available now.
