These make a great Holiday gift for the land steward or outdoor enthusiast on your list. These are first-come, first-serve to interested landowners, while supplies last.

FOREST CARBON PROGRAM WEBINARS COMING UP
There have been some developments in the forest carbon world and a few programs have been expanding to this region, which provide opportunities for landowners to diversity income. We’ll explore these opportunities with some webinars over the next couple months. The first of these webinars will be on Wednesday, December 10 at 2 pm, when we’ll learn about the American Forest Foundation’s Fields & Forests Program. NEED SOME FIREWOOD? THE UNIVERSITY OF FLORIDA FORESTRY CLUB HAS YOU COVERED!
The UF Forestry Club is having a firewood sale. Order by the bundle or by the truckload. Price per bundle is $10 and truckload prices are based on the quantity. You can place your order on this UF Firewood Sale online order form. The next firewood pickup date is Sunday, November 30th, 4 to 5 pm at the UF Austin Cary Forest, 10625 NE Waldo Rd, Gainesville, FL 32609. More pickup dates will be announced.
2025 SAND PINE CHRISTMAS TREE SALE AT LAKE WALES RIDGE STATE FOREST
Cut your own sand pine Christmas Tree at these dates and locations:
Dec. 1-5 and Dec. 15-19 at the Arbuckle Tract
Dec. 1-19 at the Walk-in-Water Tract
$10 per tree. Email XmasTreeLWRSF@fdacs.gov with the number of trees you would like to order. A link will be sent to your email address to pay via card. Or visit the State Forest office 851 CR 630 E., Frostproof, FL 33843 from 8 am to 3 pm to purchase the cutting permit. Bring a hand saw. No power saws allowed.

A REMINDER REGARDING HUNTING REGULATIONS FOR CHRONIC WASTING DISEASE MANAGEMENT ZONE
Following confirmation of a second positive test sample for chronic wasting disease (CWD) in Holmes County, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) and Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (FDACS) continue to implement management actions to protect against the possible spread of CWD.
FWC has updated their regulations designed to increase sampling and slow the spread of CWD in Florida deer. Existing regulations pertaining to the establishment of the zone, baiting, feeding restrictions, prohibition of rehabilitating or releasing injured or orphaned deer, and export of high-risk parts remain in effect. AMERICAN FOREST FOUNDATION FIELDS & FORESTS PROGRAM NOW AVAILABLE IN FLORIDA
Fields & Forests works with landowners in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, and South Carolina to diversify the income from their land by planting loblolly pine trees on open fields. This low-maintenance opportunity provides landowners with guaranteed annual income, professional forestry support, full coverage of site preparation and planting costs, and the profits from timber harvests. Payment contracts include a payment of $30 per acre per year, and are 30 years duration. See the American Forest Foundation’s Fields & Forests Program web site for details.
