2023 Water Ambassador Webinar Series

The Water Ambassador lunch and learn webinar series is back for 2023!

Join UF/IFAS Extension for the Virtual Water Ambassador lunch and learn webinar series. The Water Ambassador Program is an educational partnership between Martin County and UF/IFAS Extension that unites and empowers residents who have an interest in protecting local waterways and giving back to their communities. The program provides a way for motivated individuals to learn more about water resource topics.

Webinars take place every other Tuesday from 12 pm to 1 pm EST. The series brings in guest speakers to speak about a variety of local, regional, and statewide water resource and management topics in Florida. Webinars include water quality, water conservation, and restoration topics. Recordings from past webinars can be found here.

Webinar Dates and Topics

Registration is required for each webinar. Password (when required) is “water”. Registered participants will receive the web link via email at the time of registration.

February 21: Rain Harvesting: The Rain Barrel Project, Lorna Bravo, University of Florida IFAS Extension, Broward County

March 21: Impacts of Fertilizer Ordinances on Water Quality in Florida Lakes, Drs. Sam Smidt and AJ Reisinger, University of Florida IFAS

April 18: Sargassum Biochar for Harmful Algal Bloom Remediation, Dr. Toufiq Reza, Florida Institute of Technology

May 16: Drivers of Seagrass Decline in the Loxahatchee?, Dr. Rachel Harris, Loxahatchee River District
