UF/IFAS Collier Extension Office is always looking for new and innovative ways to continue living their mission. This entails providing knowledge in agricultural, human, and natural resources to surrounding communities. Due to the Coronavirus pandemic, we are looking for ways to deliver information while staying at a safe distance.
Recently UF/IFAS Extension launched a new webpage dedicated to helping the community easily access information on sustainable home food production. The Gardening Solutions page provides the public with links to articles addressing different ways to get involved with sustainable practices while staying at home during social distancing. The website provides links to information on home vegetable gardening as well as fun, new hobbies such as canning foods. These links provide public with an abundance of knowledge at their fingertips without ever leaving the house.
Staying at home during isolation can drive some people crazy. UF/IFAS Collier Extension Office encourages people to branch out during this time. They motivate the community to utilize this newfound freedom at home in a sustainable way. There’s no better time than now to establish a chicken coop when you are home to watch your chicks grow. If you’re one to prefer the indoors then maybe check out the sites they provide for learning to can foods. No matter what it is you decide to do with your time, UF/IFAS Collier Extension Office provides sustainable solutions while you practice social distancing.
