Event: Demystifying Florida Food Regulations

Demystifying Florida Food Regulations – Roundtable of federal and state food regulators and open discussion.

Interested in starting a Food Business in Florida?

Food regulations can be complex to understand and uncertainties in interpreting the policies can lead to unintentional violation of food regulations. Understanding food regulations and being in compliance with all requirements is critical to running a successful food business.

That’s why the UF/IFAS Extension Collier County, UF/IFAS Extension Lee County and the Culinary Accelerator @ Immokalee are hosting this event, “Demystifying Florida Food Regulations” intended to give food entrepreneurs an opportunity to interact with representatives from agencies such as the FDA, USDA, FDACS, DOH and DBPR. If you are a farmer, food processors, cottage food operator or anyone who runs or plans to run a food business in Florida, this event will teach you about the function of each of these agencies and which agency will regulate your food product(s).

The event will also allow time for open questions to regulators, Extension Agents, and networking with other entrepreneurs.

Please register early, as the course size is limited due to the room capacity and to allow sufficient time for participants to interact regulators.
