It might only be February but spring is right around the corner! Get a head start on your garden this year by increasing your gardening knowledge at some our upcoming horticulture workshops taught by our Environmental Horticulture Agent, Dr. Wayne Hobbs , or one of our amazing Clay County Master Gardener Volunteers. Here are our workshop offerings for February:
- February 2nd: Orange Park Farmers Market: Master Gardeners will be manning our off-site plant clinic to answer your gardening questions from 10am until 3pm at the monthly Orange Park Farmers Market located at 2042 Park Ave, Orange Park, FL 32073 .
- February 7th: Day of Gardening Education- Join us for a full day of gardening lectures and workshops! Our Master Gardener Volunteers have scheduled some amazing workshops and experiences including classes on palms and understory plants, landscape design, and the best plants for Florida and a choice of two workshops from a selection of propagation, cut flower gardening, ants, garden myths, gardening in the shade, and pollinator garden mixology. Cost is $20 per person with refreshments provided but we ask that everyone brings their own lunch (no reheating available). - February 22nd: Homeowner Hydroponics- This workshop will use online lectures and an in-person workshop on Saturday, February 22nd from 10am to Noon to help you get started with hydroponics at home and includes a take-home kit. - February 24th: Monthly How-To Gardening Series: Feed the Soil, Feed the Plant: Learn about fertilization of landscape and garden plants in this free workshop from 11:30am to 12:30pm.
