Horticultural Workshops and Events- January 2024

Come out of the cold and rainy weather this January to learn more about horticulture with the UF/IFAS Extension Clay County and our amazing Master Gardener Volunteers . Here are some of our available workshops this month:

  1. Homeowner Hydroponics: Learn about how to start and manage your own hydroponic systems in this fun workshop, you even get to take a simple system home to get started. The event will take place on Wednesday January 24th from 5:30pm until 7:00pm. The deadline to register is January 17th and the cost is $35 per person or $45 per couple of attendees if taking home 1 kit.   2. Monthly How-To Series: This January 22nd from 11:30am to 12:30pm learn how to properly prune as part of our Monthly How-To Series taught by the UF/IFAS Extension Clay County Master Gardeners. There is no pre-registration needed for this event.
  3. Master Gardener Volunteer Library Series: On January 23rd at 6:00pm there will be workshop entitled “Year Round Herbs Using Containers” at the Middleburg-Clay Hill Library.
  4. While not in January, we do have our annual Day of Education event on Friday, February 2nd from 8:30am until 3:30pm. This day of workshops and speakers will have three main lectures as well you a choice of 2 of 6 different workshops to help build your knowledge and skill as a gardener. This event is designed for novice gardeners and those new to gardening in Florida. Registration is $20 and refreshments are provided. We do ask participants to please bring a lunch.
