As can be told by the smiling faces, there was lots of great food at the Calhoun County 4-H Cooking with Fresh Veggies class on July 9-10. While learning about good nutrition, the 8 – 13 year old participants actively cooked their own meals. Breakfast items included Bacon Omelet Roll-up and Blueberry Pancakes; lunch items were Homemade Pizza and Grilled Chicken Fingers along with Loaded Baked Potato and Spinach Strawberry Salad. Other food items were Homemade Chips & Salsa and a Layered Fruit Parfait. Children also made salt dough and formed their favorite food items.
