Spring into Fitness

February 3 – March 15 | Registration will remain open throughout the challenge

This year’s format will be a FREE six-week individual fitness and wellness challenge starting Saturday, February 3rd, and ending Friday, March 15th. Participants can look forward to weekly in-person exercise events, educational newsletters, and fitness routines. We also partnered with Let’s Walk Florida to streamline the registration process and reporting minutes of exercise.

4-H Shooting Sports Instructor Certification – Hunting and Outdoor Skills Discipline

February 3 | 9 am – 3 pm

Are you a 4-H volunteer or know a senior-level 4-H Youth participant? Then consider joining us to discover safe hunting skills and tools!

Cooking in an Instant and Air Frying

February 6 | 2 pm – 4 pm & 6 pm – 8 pm

Join us to learn some fun recipes for your pressure cooker and air fryer! This cooking class is a fun hands-on experience and you will get to eat what you made in class. You will learn four new recipes, two for your pressure cooker and two for your air fryer! We will be making flavorful sides to pair with your main meals!

Citizens Academy 2024

February 8 – March 21 | 9 am – 3 pm

Come learn about your county in the coolest civics class you will ever take! This 7-week course will teach you how the county develops a budget, paves roads, trains employees, maintains parks, cares for our natural resources, and so much more. This course also provides you with the skills and tools needed to become leaders in creating stronger, sustainable, and livable communities. Please only register if you can commit to attending all 7 weeks.

LCLM Pesticide License Workshop

February 12 | 8.30 pm – 5 pm

UF/IFAS Extension Brevard County will be offering an in-person Limited Commercial Landscape Maintenance (LCLM) Training workshop that is needed to apply for the 482 Limited Certification Landscape Maintenance pesticide license certification exam (aka Round-up® license).

2024 Spring Forage Field Day

February 23 | 9 am – 2 pm

Come join us for the most exciting event of the season – the 2024 Spring Forage Field Day Extravaganza! Get ready for a day filled with fun, learning, and delicious food. We will be having a variety of demonstrations such as ryegrass planting methods, irrigated vs. non-irrigated cool-season success, cool-season forage varieties, and more!

Bycatch Reduction Devices (BRDs) for Recreational Crab Traps

If you own a recreational crab trap and need a BRD, stop by our Master Gardener Desk during regular business hours. These BRDs are FREE and are designed to keep terrapin turtles out of your traps.

Available at the UF/IFAS Brevard Extension Office, Mon – Fri from 8 am – 5 pm (3695 Lake Dr., Cocoa, FL 32926); The Brevard County Farmers Market, Every Thursday from 3 pm – 6 pm (2500 Parkway Dr, Melbourne, FL 32935); or at the Titusville FWC office (1 A Max Brewer Memorial Parkway, Titusville, FL 32796).
