The UF/IFAS Animal Sciences department’s 36th Annual Florida Ruminant Nutrition Symposium will be held on February 24-26, 2025. The Symposium is recognized as one of the premier conferences for gathering the latest information about advances in the nutrition of dairy and beef cattle. The Symposium is designed for people who want to acquire current knowledge of diet formulation and nutritional management of dairy and beef cattle to improve the efficiency of nutrient utilization, and animal production, health, and reproduction. Nutritionists, extension specialists, veterinarians, researchers, producers, graduate students, and allied industry representatives will find the information in this symposium extremely valuable. It is also an excellent opportunity for networking with colleagues specializing in cattle nutrition. Each year a wide variety of topics focusing primarily on areas pertaining to the nutrition of ruminant animals are presented. Participants have the opportunity to hear timely topics and novel ideas that impact how dairy and beef cattle are fed and managed.
This year’s program will begin with a mini-symposium, “Beef x dairy cattle: advancing beef quality to the next level”, sponsored by Balchem Corporation on Monday, February 24. Beginning Tuesday morning, there will be a pre-conference, ““Optimal rumen function to drive productivity and animal health” sponsored by Perdue Agribusiness. The symposium will continue that afternoon through Wednesday morning with a range of speakers from UF and universities around the globe.
