International Exotic Animal Sanctuary Accepting Applicants for Summer Internships

The International Exotic Animal Sanctuary (IEAS) is located in Boyd, Texas, and is home to many species of exotic animals such as tigers, bears, wolves, cougars, bobcats, and more.

Three-Month Carnivore Internship:

  • Safety procedures, including classes led by certified instructors for CPR, Basic First Aid and Bleeding Control
  • Diet preparation
  • Feeding
  • Cleaning
  • Animal health
  • Animal management
  • Behavioral observations and participation in Emotional Enrichment Program to learn about animal behavior and emotions
  • Enrichment
  • Record keeping
  • Assisting in construction and habitat modification, and related activities
  • Involvement with the volunteer program, and both formal and informal presentations
  • **This is a strict no contact position** 
  • Housing, vehicles and a stipend are provided

Experience Required: 
  • At least two years of undergraduate program studies in zoology, animal management, biology, or a related field
  • International applications are welcome
  • Must be able to perform regular, strenuous duties in over 100 degree weather and must be able to lift 50 lbs. 
  • You must present yourself in a professional manner
