The Highlands County 4-H Program held another successful annual Commissioner’s Breakfast at 7:00 AM at the Bert J. Harris Agriculture Center on Tuesday, October 17, 2017.

Each year, during National 4-H Week, the Highlands County 4-H program cooks and serves breakfast to the County Commissioners, Elected Officials, County Department Heads, and other local dignitaries in recognition for all the hard work and countless hours they put in to our youth and community. Although we were not able to host the breakfast during National 4-H Week, October 1-7, because of Hurricane Irma; this did not stop our youth. There were over 100 people in attendance.

After breakfast, 4-H members were able to join the Commissioners at the Commission meeting held at the Government Center. Carli McWaters, Highlands County 4-H County Council President, read the Commissioners the 4-H Proclamation designating October 15-21, 2017 as Highlands County’s 4-H Week.

We would like to thank everyone for coming to the Commissioner’s Breakfast and we hope to see you again next year!
