NATA holds second 100% virtual S-131 training last week

The Natural Areas Training Academy (NATA) held another successful 100% virtual S-131 training last week. Participants represented many different agencies and organizations, including the Florida Department of Environmental Protection, the Florida Park Service, North Carolina Parks, the U.S. Forest Service, and the National Park Service. Most participants were from Florida, but we also had several attending out-of-state from California, North and South Carolina, and Maryland. We are so happy to be able to offer S-131: Firefighter Type I in a virtual format so that we can continue to make this training available given the circumstances surrounding the current pandemic, even for those not local to Florida. Thank you to Andi Christman (Alachua County), Brent Saulsbury (UCF), Chelsea MacKenzie (TNC), and Brian Pinson (FPS) for serving as instructors during the group scenario part of the Zoom live session. We appreciate the time invested and expertise you shared in each one of your unique group scenarios. People on Zoom

We hope to offer this training again in the 100% virtual format soon. Check back to the NATA Workshop Calendar regularly to see dates for upcoming trainings. For more information about NATA, visit our website.
