Khadejah Scott, (Kuh-Dee-Juh) Our NEW UF/IFAS Wakulla County Agriculture and Horticulture Agent



The UF/IFAS Wakulla County Extension Office team are all excited to announce our much-requested Extension Agriculture, Horticulture Agent Khadejah Scott, (Kuh-Dee-Juh) who will be joining us on July 1, 2022.

Khadejah Scott is a crop scientist native to Memphis, TN. Being raised in an urban area, she focuses on horticulture, agriculture, and environmental education for small and disadvantaged communities. Khadejah’s passion for community service prompted her to address food system issues in urban areas, improving community health and access to fresh foods. She has supported numerous neighborhood gardens through her volunteerism and active efforts to gain collective action within the agriculture community. Khadejah believes sustainable agriculture is an investment in tomorrow and a powerful deterrent to poverty and food-related insecurity. She has experience in residential horticulture, crop production, urban agriculture, and community engagement. Her professional endeavors include non-profit management, educational programming, and project management.

Khadejah holds a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture from Austin Peay State University and a Master of Science in Plant and Soil Science from Alabama A&M University. She is equipped with the valuable skills needed to serve Wakulla and Franklin County programs. Wakulla and Franklin County Master Gardener Volunteers are excited with anticipation for Khadejah to teach them a whole new and wide range of education that will offer our counties positive, impactful enlightenment.  When Khadejah is not working, she enjoys camping, swimming, painting, and spending time with her dog.



UF/IFAS Wakulla County Extension Office receives an abundance of calls daily from our Wakulla County residents with a variety of questions about their trees, lawn, vegetable gardens, crops, plant treatment, soil sample kits, and an array of insect disease issues. Along with our valued Wakulla Master Gardener Volunteers who provide their time to the plant clinic service every Thursday from 10:00 am – 12:00 noon answering great questions; our community can also visit Khadejah Scott starting July 1, 2022, Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm, or call (850) 926-3931.

Khadejah Scott will be right at home in the UF/IFAS Wakulla County Extension Master Gardener Volunteer gardens.
