Do you want to learn about native edible and historically medicinal plants found in Florida? This might be the perfect opportunity. Florida Master Naturalist Diane Goldberg will be presenting “Native Edible and Historically Medicinal Plants” on February 13, 2024 from 10 AM – 11:30 AM. This event will be conducted at Indian River State College as part of their continuing education program located at IRSC Pruitt Campus, 500 NW California Blvd. building E, 2nd floor, room 210.
During this presentation, participants will learn about native edible and historically medicinal plants that can benefit our health, clean water, healthy waterways, and help our native wildlife. Free native seeds and plants will be given out. Florida Master Naturalist Diane Goldberg will share her wealth of knowledge and expertise with participants. The program is free of charge. Extension programs are open to all persons without regard to race, color, sexual orientation, sex, age, disability, religion, or national origin. People seeking accommodation can make requests two weeks prior to start of the event.

Diane Goldberg is a graduate of the UF/IFAS Florida Master Naturalist Program in St. Lucie County. This program is conducted by UF/IFAS Extension Agent Ken Gioeli in collaboration with other experts. The mission of the Florida Master Naturalist Program (FMNP) is to promote awareness, understanding, and respect of Florida’s natural world among Florida’s citizens and visitors. The FMNP teaches those who teach others about Florida’s unique ecosystems and wildlife. FMNP Instructors teach participants about Florida’s environment using science-based information and interpretive techniques that prepare participants to share their knowledge with others. In turn, FMNP graduates share their knowledge and foster principles of sustainability, connectivity, and biodiversity to assist others to understand and respect Florida’s natural world as a community to which we all belong.
