The Florida Master Naturalist Program is offered through UF/IFAS Extension in conjunction with collaborating agencies. In St. Lucie County, lead instructors contribute to this program from the UF/IFAS Extension and St. Lucie County Environmental Resources Department. Associate and assistant instructors come from a variety of organizations each one contributing unique perspectives on Florida’s natural resources. There are three 40-hr core courses (uplands, freshwater, coastal systems), four 24-hr advanced courses (conservation science, environmental interpretation, habitat evaluation, wildlife monitoring), and new restoration courses offered in Florida. Details of future course offerings are online at http://masternaturalist.ifas.ufl.edu. Extension programs are open to all people without regard to race, color, sex, age, disability, religion, or national origin.
