On March 9, 2021, I worked with Extension Agent Kate Rotindo and her Florida Master Gardener volunteers to teach them about invasive pest plants on the Treasure Coast. As part of this training program, I asked the Master Gardeners to come up with a list of common invasive plants that they were aware of prior to their training. This list of plants is below. This is not a list based on any scientific assessment nor is it based on invasiveness of the plant. It is simply a list of plants these Master Gardener trainees were aware of prior to the training class. Each plant on this list is linked to research-based information in the IFAS Assessment of Non-native Plants.
